Hello! I am Inge Christensen, Communications Coach. For 25+ years, I’ve helped leaders and teams to use storytelling to secure what they need to advance their business. Reach me at inge@unstickyourthinking.com.
I’ve coached startups at The Forge, the incubator at McMaster University, since 2017 and at the Innovation Factory, an Ontario Regional Innovation Centre, since 2018. I also have private clients, referred to me by angel investors.
I am a champion of entrepreneurs!
My clients know me as an empathetic and results-oriented coach/facilitator who makes the work fun. I live by two rules – “Story has power” and “It’s all about the audience” – because success in life relies on the ability to connect with other humans.
My priority is founders: helping each individual be authentic, confident and credible especially when they’re overwhelmed by the demands of running a startup. As an entrepreneur myself, I know the anxiety of needing support… and the relief of finding it.
My experience as a storyteller and improv performer informs how I coach clients on story structure, voice and stage presence. It also informs how I put the fun into coaching and workshops. Learning is easier when there’s laughter!
MY PAST LIFE…
My passion has always been to unstick people's thinking! I began as Creative Director at international PR fIrm Hill & Knowlton and then launched my own business as a Creative Thinking Coach. For 35 years, I served a loyal client base including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, AstraZeneca and CIBC.
In the days when every corporation blindly put “innovation” in their mission statement, I helped them navigate the people aspect. These articles are dated but fun: Innovation starts (and stops) with people and The place to start innovating is right in front of you.
Until 2017, I worked with teams at national and global companies to help them think in new ways about their business challenges. With my facilitation, teams arrived at more creative/strategic solutions and then learned how to pitch them to decision-makers. The video below was made for this audience in 2015.
A video made for corporate clients – WWADI and BABS, explained here, also limit thinking about how to communicate with influential audiences!
